Associate Professor

René received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in aerospace engineering from the Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, in 1988 and 1994 respectively, for his work on the biomechanics of the pilot’s neuromuscular system. He is currently an Associate Professor in aerospace engineering with the Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, working on human–machine interaction and aircraft simulation. He applies Cognitive Systems Engineering analysis (abstraction hierarchy, multilevel flow modeling) and ecological interface design to the work domains of vehicle control and air traffic management. René is an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems.
