Development Specialist at BMW Group (Research, New Technologies, Innovations)

Joost is a development specialist at BMW Group, working within the Department of Research, New Technologies and Innovations.

Joost obtained his MSc degree in aerospace engineering in 2009, followed by his PhD degree in 2014, both from TU Delft (Delft, The Netherlands). He was affiliated with Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics (Tübingen, Germany) from 2011 to 2016, where he worked, amongst other topics, on motion perception and motion simulation. Since 2017, Joost has been working in the driving simulation team of BMW Group (Munich, Germany). At BMW Group he is involved in the conception, construction and operation of BMW’s new driving simulation center. Furthermore, he is involved in the development of novel motion cueing approaches for driving simulation and the supervisor of our shared PhD student Maurice Kolff. His research interests include motion cueing, human motion perception and driving simulation techniques.
