I am Xuerui (Sherry) Wang, an assistant professor in the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, Delft University of Technology. I strive to optimize aerospace systems through interdisciplinary research on control theory, flight dynamics, aerodynamics, and structural dynamics.

The central theme in my research is nonlinear control design for aerospace systems. First, I develop advanced nonlinear control methods, including sensor-based incremental control, adaptive control, backstepping, switching control, model-free control, etc. Second, I implement these control methods to solve the problems in aerospace systems (morphing wing, the Flying-V, aerial robotics, launch vehicles, etc.). Third, some of these methods are demonstrated by real-world flight tests and wind tunnel experiments.
