The paper entitled: “Testing the applicability of a checklist-based startle management method in the simulator” by Annemarie Landman and co-authors has won the best student paper award at the 20th International Symposium on Aviation Psychology (ISAP) held at Dayton, OH (USA). The paper details the first outcomes of an experiment in which pilots performed startling scenarios in the Simona research simulator. In this way, the effectiveness of using a checklist to manage startle and surprise was tested.IMG-20190510-WA0002
