Delft Ecological Design

Delft Ecological Design is a research group part of the Control and Simulation section at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering (Delft University of Technology). The group consists of a number of enthusiastic researchers who are educated in the field of control engineering and flight simulation and who have a passion for studying and improving how humans interact with technical systems.

Our multi-disciplinary mindset and skills in creating mathematical models and programming enable us to bridge the gap between psychology and engineering, resulting in innovative human-machine interfaces. We consider the design of the human-machine interface as a form of control engineering, but what matters here is how to convey the information in ways that allow the “intelligent control system” (i.e., the human) better understand the control problem at hand and apply robust control actions.
