Full Professor

Max received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. (cum laude) degrees in aerospace engineering from the Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, in 1992 and 1999, respectively, for his work on the “cybernetics of tunnel-in-the-sky displays”. He is currently a Full Professor and Head of the Control and Simulation Section, Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, Delft University of Technology. His research interests include cybernetics and its use in modeling human perception and performance, and cognitive systems engineering and its application in the design of ecological human–machine systems.

Aerospace Human-Machine Systems is one of the four clusters of the section Control and Simulation. It focuses on the design and evaluation of novel systems to support humans in manual and supervisory control tasks.
